Pleasant Grove Swim Team

Would you like to improve your swim stroke and participate in competitive swim meets?  The Pleasant Grove Swim Team may be for you! Come be a part of the Pleasant Grove Summer Swim Team.  It is a great opportunity to be involved in a fun learning atmosphere and to be part of a team.  We focus on sportsmanship, teamwork, endurance, and goal achievement.
Team Size is limited so sign up early.  Returning Swim Team Members Must Register In Order To Guarantee Their Spot On The Team

Cost

  • One swimmer $65
  • Two or more in same family $60 each.
  • $25.00 refundable deposit will be required this year.  The refund will be returned at the end of the season if volunteer hours are met.
  • Additional $10.00 check per swimmer must be made out to PG Swim for county registration.

Registration

April 29 - May 3, 2013       3:30 – 6:00 p.m.
May 6 - 10, 2013              3:30 – 6:00 p.m.
May 13 - 17, 2013            3:30 - 6:00 p.m.
May 20 - 24, 2013  3:30 - 6:00 p.m.

Remember swim team  size is limited so sign up early. Returning swim team members must register in order to guarantee their spot on the team.

Tryouts

Swimmers 11 years of age and up must be proficient, and able to swim 50 yards in all 4 competitive swim strokes. Swimmers 10 and under must be proficient, and able to swim 25 yards in two of the four competitive swim strokes. Strokes include Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly
All others should sign up for swimming lessons until proficiency is acquired.

Tryouts will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013 for all first year swimmers at the following times:
10 & under    10:00 a.m.
11 & up    11:00 a.m.

Practices & Meets

Practices will begin Tuesday,  June 4, 2013 and run through the first week of August.
Practices are held Monday through Friday mornings at the following times:

11 & Up         6:45 – 8:15 a.m.
10 & Under    8:15 – 9:15 a.m.

Weekly swim meets will be held on Saturdays and some weeknights.  There will also season ending meets on the following days:
Bronze        TBD
Silver          TBD

Parents Meeting
There will be a meeting for all parents and swimmers on the first day of practice, parents must attend this meeting.
Team suits, Caps and T-Shirts will be available for purchase.

Parent Volunteers Are Needed!
In order to ensure that parents volunteer swim team coaches are asking that each family volunteer for at least 4 hours at a swim team function. 
A $25.00 refundable fee will be added to the registration fee this year to encourage parents to volunteer.  If parents volunteers for a minimum of 4 hours the $25.00 will be refunded.

Swim Team Triathlon
The Annual Swim Team Triathlon will be held on Saturday, Date TBA at the Pleasant Grove Veteran’s Pool.
